Accessibility Statement

Last updated: October 2026

Spit & Pixel is committed to making this website as accessible and easy to use as reasonably possible for everyone, including people with disabilities.

Accessibility is considered as part of the design, content and ongoing development of the website.

My approach to accessibility

I aim to follow recognised web accessibility good practice and use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 as a reference when designing and maintaining this website.

These guidelines explain how websites can be made more accessible for people with a wide range of access needs, including people with visual, hearing, mobility, cognitive and neurological disabilities.

I aim to make the Spit & Pixel website:

  • Easy to navigate

  • Clear and logically structured

  • Usable with keyboard navigation where possible

  • Responsive across different screen sizes

  • Readable using appropriate contrast and typography

  • Understandable without unnecessarily complicated language

  • Accessible to screen readers where supported

  • Supported by meaningful alternative text for important images

  • Usable when text is enlarged or the page is zoomed

Accessibility status

I am continually reviewing and improving the accessibility of the Spit & Pixel website.

The website has not currently undergone a formal independent WCAG accessibility audit, so I do not claim that every page or feature fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA.

My aim is to follow WCAG 2.2 AA good practice wherever reasonably possible and to address accessibility issues when they are identified.

Known limitations

Despite my efforts, some parts of the website may not yet be fully accessible.

Possible limitations may include:

  • Some third-party functionality that I cannot completely control

  • Embedded content provided by external services

  • Older portfolio images or visual content where alternative text may be limited

  • Occasional colour, animation or interactive elements that may behave differently with certain assistive technologies

  • Documents or content supplied by third parties

I will continue to review these areas and make improvements where reasonably possible.

Images

I aim to provide appropriate alternative text for images that communicate useful information.

Decorative images may intentionally have no descriptive alternative text so they do not create unnecessary information for screen-reader users.

Portfolio and design imagery can sometimes contain a large amount of visual detail. Where reproducing every visual element in alternative text would not be useful, I aim to provide a concise description of the purpose or subject of the image.

Text and layout

The website is designed to use clear headings, reasonably concise paragraphs and a logical reading order.

You should be able to enlarge text or zoom your browser without losing the main content or functionality of the site.

The website has also been designed responsively so that content adapts to mobile, tablet and desktop screen sizes.

Keyboard navigation

I aim for key website functions and navigation to be usable without relying solely on a mouse or touchscreen.

Some functionality provided by third-party applications or website components may behave differently depending on the technology being used.

Links

I aim to use link text that makes its purpose reasonably clear rather than relying unnecessarily on vague wording.

Links to external websites may open services that have their own accessibility standards and policies, which are outside my control.

Videos and multimedia

If video, audio or other multimedia content is added to the website, I will consider appropriate accessibility features such as captions, transcripts or descriptive information where relevant and reasonably practicable.

Third-party platforms

This website is built using Wix and may contain components or services supplied by third parties.

While I aim to choose accessible tools wherever possible, I cannot always control the accessibility of third-party platforms, embedded applications or external websites.

Need information in another format?

If you have difficulty accessing any information on this website, please contact me.

I will do my best to provide the information in another reasonable format or help you access the content you need.

Reporting an accessibility problem

Accessibility is an ongoing process, and I welcome feedback.

If you experience an accessibility problem with the Spit & Pixel website, please let me know.

It is particularly helpful if you can tell me:

  • Which page you were using

  • What you were trying to do

  • What went wrong

  • Which browser, device or assistive technology you were using, if relevant

I will investigate the issue and make reasonable efforts to resolve it.
